Dryopteris pseudofilix mas England This easy-to-grow deciduousAccording to the late fern guru Dr. John Mickel, Dryopteris pseudofilix mas is truly a great, easy to grow garden fern. Similar to Dryopteris wallichiana but larger and more welcoming of heat and humidity, Dryopteris pseudofilix mas hails from the high, moist, mountain forests in Mexico and Guatemala where it's quite rare. Unlike most other male ferns, the Mexican male fern continues to produce new fronds all season instead of just a single spring
