Hosta White Necklace Calopogon The deciduous clump is composed

The deciduous clump is composed of wiry stems connecting three deeply serrated leaflets

open grasslands in the Natal Mountains of South Africa where it was discovered in 1860

Each leaf is edged with a wide green border that ages to gold

due to it's dislike of water and need for perfect drainage

Hosta White Necklace Calopogon The deciduous clump is composedThis amazing hosta truly impressed me on a visit to see hosta breeder Clarence Owens of Michigan. Each 4' wide, vigorous clump of pointed, glossy, green leaves was bordered with a 3 4" wide, creamy white edge. In late summer, the clumps are topped with tall 4' scapes of lavender flowers. Be sure to leave enough room to enjoy this at its best in a special spot in your garden.
